VA San Diego Healthcare System
The Clothesline Project
In an effort to raise awareness about Military Sexual Trauma and its impact, VA San Diego Healthcare System is hosting a “Clothesline Project” on April 23 & 24 (San Diego VA Medical Center), April 25 & 26 (Mission Valley Clinic), and April 27 (Oceanside Clinic).
"The Clothesline Project is a visual display that allows survivors to break the silence and share their stories by decorating a shirt or piece of their military uniform, in a way that reflects the impact that sexual violence has had on their lives and their road to recovery," said Carolyn Allard, Military Sexual Trauma coordinator.
Male and female Veterans who have experienced sexual trauma are invited to attend one of the decorating events or to decorate items on their own and drop them off at their nearest drop-off location.
