VA San Diego Healthcare System opens new health clinic in Sorrento Valley
August 15, 2014
VA San Diego Healthcare System (VASDHS) will celebrate the grand opening of the new Sorrento Valley Clinic with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house on Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, from 10:00 -10:30 a.m. Guest speakers for this event will include Congressman Scott Peters and San Diego City Council President Pro Tem Sherri S. Lightner.
“It’s a pleasure to be able to expand services to our Veterans in a new location,” said Jeffrey Gering, VASDHS director/CEO. “The Sorrento Valley Clinic will help free up space for us to accommodate more providers and reduce patient appointment wait times.”
The facility was designed to meet the demand for a growing Veteran population across San Diego County and its 9,950 square-foot space will provide space for four primary care teams with 15 primary care exam rooms, six team rooms and 5 team consult rooms for an estimated 17,000 outpatient visits per year.
Services offered at the clinic include primary care, pharmacist counseling (no prescription service), lab drawing, nutritional counseling, women’s health care, individual counseling for behavioral health, individual and group counseling for mental health(future service) and patient education classes VIA video teleconferencing (future service). We will start scheduling patients for appointments to the clinic on Aug. 25.
