April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month.  In an effort to raise awareness about Military Sexual Trauma and its impact, VA San Diego Healthcare System (VASDHS) is hosting a “Clothesline Project” on April 22 & 23 (San Diego VA Medical Center), April 24 (Mission Valley Clinic), and April 25 (Oceanside Clinic).

"The Clothesline Project is a visual display that allows survivors to "Break the Silence" and share their stories by decorating a shirt or piece of their military uniform, in a way that reflects the impact that sexual violence has had on their lives and their overcoming it," said Carolyn Allard, Military Sexual Trauma coordinator.

VA San Diego Healthcare System invites you to attend the Clothesline Project's Opening Ceremony and Display Days:

Monday, April 22nd @ 11:30 a.m.
VASDHS Multipurpose Room (1st Floor of the La Jolla Medical Center)

April 22 & 23, 2013
