A women Veteran receives handouts/materials from a VA representative during the Women Veterans Campaign event - July 10.
VA San Diego Healthcare System (VASDHS) held the Celebrating Women Veterans Event on July 10 at the Oceanside Clinic to honor women Veterans and provide information for women Veterans across the county. Nearly 140 Veterans attended the event, which featured a presentation and award ceremony to honor resilient female Veterans. The award winners for most resilient female Veterans went to Air Force/Army Veteran Linda Stanley and Navy Veteran Nicole Heffel. The CVS Health organization also received an award for their donation toward the car seat program, which has made a difference in the lives of Veteran expectant mothers.
“VASDHS is excited to provide an event that supports local women Veterans and their needs after the military,” said Jennifer Roberts, VA San Diego Healthcare System Women Veterans Program Manager. “Feel free to contact us in the future - we want to be the provider of choice for all female-specific and Veteran needs.”
