Coumadin Class

This is a one-time class required for all patients with newly prescribed anticoagulant therapy.

Diabetes Education

This 2-part program is for people with Diabetes Type 1 or Type 2.  Family members are welcome to attend.

Diabetes: Getting Started

This class is an introduction to diabetes for patients who are newly diagnosed.

Diabetes Glucose Meter

This class is a group session for instruction on home glucose monitoring with the AccuChek Advantage glucose meter.

Diabetes Prevention

Provides information on what it means to have "pre-diabetes" and how to treat it with diet and exercise.

Eating Right For Health (SCI)

This class is for those with a spinal cord injury. It covers nutrition for good health, important nutrients for healing, and tips for weight control.


Coumadin Class

This is a one-time class required for all patients with newly prescribed anticoagulant therapy (coumadin/warfarin). Patients currently on coumadin are encouraged to attend class as a refresher course as needed. The class is designed to increase your knowledge of coumadin and clinic routines/policies. The class offers information about the safe and effective use of coumadin, blood values (INR), health/medical considerations when taking coumadin and behaviors that increase the risk of bleeding.

Diabetes Education

9am-1pm the third Monday and Wednesday of each month This 2-part program is for people with Diabetes Type 1 or Type 2.  Family members are welcome to attend.Class 1 presents information on how diabetes happens, what medications are used to treat it, how proper diet helps control blood glucose (sugar), meal planning, eating at restaurants, and weight control.Class 2 topics include how to use the results of home glucose monitoring, foot and skin care, coping with diabetes, how to start an exercise program, and how to prevent complications of diabetes. It provides information for diabetes self-care.  Glucose meter training is available after the second class session.

Diabetes: Getting Started

9-10:15 am, first Wed of the month
This class is an introduction to diabetes for patients who are newly diagnosed.  Participants complete a self-report about their lifestyle and a quiz on diabetes to identify learning needs and behavior changes that can help them manage their diabetes.  A brief overview of diabetes and its treatment is presented, along with each patient's lab values used to make their diagnosis.

10:30-11:45am,  first Wed of the month
This class is a group session for instruction on home glucose monitoring with the AccuChek Advantage glucose meter.  Hands-on practice follows discussion of why and how to monitor your own blood sugar.  Family members are welcome.
