VA San Diego Healthcare System (VASDHS) organized and managed the medical tent for the 25th year of Stand Down, from July 13 – 15 at San Diego High School.  This year, more than 110 VASDHS volunteers served 446 Veterans and their dependents at the medical tent.  Overall, 1,110 homeless Veterans and their family members participated in this year's Stand Down.

Stand Down is an annual three-day homeless Veteran outreach program to help get Veterans off the street and into rehabilitation.  The program started in San Diego as a team effort between the VA Medical Center and Veterans Village of San Diego and has expanded to over 200 cities throughout the nation.

Special thanks to our VASDHS team including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and many other medical and support personnel who staffed the event.
